El sentimiento creativo que las dirige es claro y directo. La pintura, si es pintura, exige esfuerzo a quien pretende contemplarla.
Tras su trabajo hay una decisión que conforma casi un carácter, procurarse tiempo y dedicarlo con decisión y buen ánimo a la tarea de hacerse preguntas sin buscar nunca una respuesta. The decision to work under formal restrictions has nothing to do with simplicity. The value is not simplicity, but naturalness, lack of affectation or portent. The creative feeling that drives them is clear and direct. Painting, if it is authentic, requires an effort from the viewer.
Behind his work there’s a decision that defines, almost, a character, to buy oneself time and devote it, decisively and energetically to the task of questioning without ever looking for an answer. The impulse focuses on the process, on recognising the unexpected as it arrives. Trapping the phenomenon at the right instant.
